Salento International Film Festival 2010 - Call for Entries

SALENTO INT'L FILM FESTIVAL 2010 CALL FOR ENTRIES GREETINGS FROM SALENTO THE LAND OF THE SUN The 7th Annual of the Salento Internationa Film Festival (SIFF)  are now accepting film submission for the festival taking place September 3-12, 2010 in Salento, Italy, the land of the sun. Filmmakers worldwide are encouraged to submit their project for consideration to one of the top film festival in South Italy. All selected films are eligible to be included in the competition in the following categories - Feature, Short-Film, and Documentary. The competitive part of the film festival is available in the categories of Best Feature, Best Documentary, Best Short and Best Actor/Actress along with other awards. Entry forms and eligibility guidelines are available through withoutabox and to the festival website  the final deadline is April 30, 2010. "We'are very excited for the 2010 film festivals, and we can't wait to begin reviewing submission and planning the schedule of another terrific Salento International Film Festival, we are confident this will be a record setting year" says Luigi Campanile, the Festival Executive Director. The Salento International Film Festival Is a celebration of films and filmmakers, promotes international independent films, in recognition of the fact that movies are the most powerful form of cultural communication and link between cultures and peoples. Founded in 2004, by Luigi Campanile, the Salento International Film Festival emerged as a major cultural event in South Italy. Each year it introduces filmmakers worldwide to the Salento area's unique resources, while celebrating the history and future of the film industry with 10 days of world premieres, special events, seminars, feature films, short films, documentaries, and all night parties. "SIFF: BEST OF THE FEST", a collection of awarded films from the Festival which is going to take place on Friday April 2nd  and Saturday April 3rd in London at The Prince Charles Cinema located at 7 Leicester Place in the heart of Soho. This two-day event will contain feature films and short-films, Q&A with directors and cast, a welcome cocktail and a chance to win a total of 4 trips to the Salento Film Festival- 3-12 September 2010 in Tricase in the heart of Salento (Southern Italy) the land of the sun. Each prize includes half board accommodation for one person for one week during the festival. SALLY POTTER TO RECEIVE THE "SALENTO DIRECTOR AWARDS The Salento International Film Festival celebrates the 30 year career of acclaimed British Director, Oscar Nominated SALLY POTTER. On April 3rd in London  at the Prince Charles Cinema, during the SIFF LONDON BEST OF THE FEST, Sally Potter in person will receive the " SALENTO DIRECTOR AWARD", which recognizes a Director for their visionary achievements in cinema.
